International School of Bangkok (ISB)


Due to COVID restrictions, the boys' school has been closed and they've been attending virtually.  Even when they are finally allowed back on campus, parents will not be. To attend school on campus, the boys will do twice weekly rapid Covid tests and wear masks except while eating.  

On Tuesday, we were invited as a family to tour the campus.  For us to tour the school, even Ian and I had to do rapid Covid tests. We had 3 separate tours (Ian and I, Braden and Gavin, and Jamie), so I don't have pictures of what the boys did but I did get some pictures of the school.

The facilities at the school are beyond amazing.  We are so grateful that the boys will get to experience this kind of first rate education in a setting that takes this pandemic seriously.

Other Facilities
This one was particularly impressive.  In the library, they are have Virtual Reality booths.  They are used to simulate scenarios for different competitions.  For example, if they participate in Debate, they can practice their defense of their position in a simulated debate.

This year started off with a bang, so many activities and events after 3 years of restrictions.  First event of the year was the Booster Club Pancake Breakfast. Pancake Breakfast Checked out Chatachuk Market Spirit Night! We also experienced some pretty unusual Thai weather.  While rain and some flooding is normal, this was extreme by some accounts a 100 year event We even got to go in person for parent teacher conferences and they had a display of a "super hero" project. The kids were asked to pick their super hero trait and write about themselves.  I think they picked the perfect traits.

Family Photo Shoot

 We were so fortunate to have a professional photographer as our neighbor here in Bangkok. It took a couple of tries (the weather didn't cooperate with us), but we managed to get some amazing photos. It was even more fun with friends. The Mougey family, our friends from Kuwait, moved to Bangkok this month and came out with us and got to do a shoot at the same time.
